How Cars Sniper works

Four steps between a raw auction listing and a number you can act on.

  1. 1 We sync the auctions Copart and IAAI lots from yards across the US, refreshed continuously. Only automobiles with a confirmed sale date make it in.
  2. 2 We add it all up Bid, auction fees and delivery to your ZIP add up to one all-in total — the amount the car actually costs you.
  3. 3 We show the resale side Retail, private party and trade-in values, plus how the same year and model sold before — set against your all-in total.
  4. 4 You bid at the source Every lot links straight back to Copart or IAAI, where you bid with your own account. We never touch the transaction.

Built for serious buyers

Not another raw auction dump. Every listing is priced, valued and filtered before it reaches you — so the comparing is already done.

  • All-in total Bid, auction fees and delivery to your ZIP — as one number, on every card
  • Market value Retail, private party and trade-in for every eligible VIN
  • Sold history How many sold, the average and the range for the same year and model
  • Export cost Customs, duty and excise estimated for twelve destination countries
  • Filters that matter Damage type, title, keys, run & drive, odometer, state and yard
  • Estimated bid What comparable lots have been going for — a starting point before the auction opens

Common questions

No. Cars Sniper is a research tool — we never take bids or payments. Every lot links back to the original listing on Copart.com or IAAI.com, where you bid with your own account and membership.

The bid plus the auction's buyer and internet fees plus estimated delivery to your ZIP. It is the number you would actually pay to have the car in your hands in the US — which is almost never the number shown on the auction site.

From sold comparables — what the same year and model actually went for at auction. Lots that already have a fixed Buy Now price use that price instead. You can switch between the two on any lot page and every number recalculates.

The gap between the estimated resale value and your all-in cost. A wide spread means more potential margin — but it is an estimate, not a promise. Damage, missing keys and a long repair bill can close that gap fast, so read the lot before you trust the percentage.

Yes. Every lot page has an export cost estimate — customs duty, excise and VAT calculated from the engine, fuel type and year for twelve countries: Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Moldova, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Georgia, the UAE and Mexico. Electric cars are handled separately, since they are taxed on battery capacity rather than displacement.

Listings and sale dates are re-synced continuously throughout the day. Live bidding still happens on the auction's own site, so always confirm the current bid there before you commit.

Copart and IAAI yards across the United States. Only automobiles with a scheduled sale date are listed — no past auctions, no fleet or commercial equipment, no lots without photos. Use the state filter on the browse page to narrow it down.

To bid, yes — both auctions require their own registration, and some lots are restricted to licensed dealers or brokers. Browsing and researching on Cars Sniper needs no account at all.
