Who we are

This site is run by Cars Sniper LLC, 1209 Mountain Road Pl NE, Ste N, Albuquerque, NM 87110, United States. If you are in the EU or the UK, we are the data controller for everything this page describes. Write to [email protected] about your data and we will answer.

What we store on your device

Cars Sniper keeps a small amount of data in your browser so the site behaves sensibly between visits. None of it is sent to us as a profile, and clearing your browser data removes all of it:

• Theme preference — whether you chose the light or dark interface.
• Delivery ZIP — the postcode you enter to estimate delivery, so you do not retype it on every lot.
• Page cache — recently viewed lots and search results, held briefly to make navigation faster.
• Sign-in cookie — if you have an account, a cookie that keeps you signed in. Signing out removes it.
• Campaign tag — if you arrived from one of our ads, the name of that ad, kept for 90 days so we can tell which ads bring people here. It contains no personal data.
• Your choice about measurement — if we asked you about the Meta pixel below, your answer, kept for a year so we do not ask again.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not show third-party advertising on this site.
• We never see or store your card details — payments are handled by Stripe.

Server logs

Our servers keep ordinary technical logs — the pages requested, timestamps and error traces — for the purpose of keeping the site running and diagnosing faults. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not shared with third parties for marketing.

Measuring our advertising

We advertise this site, and we need to know which ads actually bring people here rather than guessing. Most of that counting is our own and stays on our servers: how many people arrived from a given ad, from which country, and how many of them created an account. That counting involves no third party.

In addition we may load the Meta pixel (Facebook/Instagram). When it is active it tells Meta that a visit happened and, if you create an account, that a registration happened. Meta receives your IP address, the page you were on and basic browser information, and it may link this to a Facebook or Instagram account if you have one. We use it only to measure and improve our own ads.

If you are in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, the pixel does not load until you allow it: a bar at the bottom of the page asks first, and Decline is a complete answer — nothing is sent, and the site works exactly the same. Elsewhere it may load without asking. To change your mind, clear this site’s cookies in your browser and answer again.

Data from third parties

Listing details, photos and valuation data originate from the auctions and vehicle-data providers we sync from. That information describes vehicles, not visitors. When you follow a link to Copart or IAAI you leave this site, and their own privacy terms apply from that point on.

Accounts

To browse the catalogue you need an account. We store your email address, the display name you give us (or the one Google supplies if you sign in with Google), when you registered, when you last signed in, and the country your registration came from — that last one so we know which markets our advertising reaches. If you sign in with a password we store a cryptographic hash of it, never the password itself.

Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Stripe handles the card; we receive only the result — which plan is active and until when. Your card number never reaches our servers.
